What is Underwriting?
WNRB-LP is a non-commercial community radio
station supported by contributions and not by
advertising. When you make a business contribution,
your support is acknowledged on air; this is called
underwriting
Why Underwrite at WNRB-LP?
WNRB-LP reaches the Wausau metropolitan area,
which includes over 6,000 Southeast Asians. That is
the highest per capita population in Wisconsin.
Underwriting is an affordable alternative to advertise
your business, and it will enhance your image as a
participant in and supporter of the community.
WNRB-LP is a non-profit station, which means your
writing support is tax-deductible.
Supporters will be listed on our Web site
An Underwriting Announcement includes:
Business/organization name
Address, phone number, and/or Web site
List and value-neutral description of products and services
Business/organization’s special event information: date, time, location, and description • Non-promotional business slogan An Underwriting Announcement does NOT include: • Sales or prices • Incentives • Call to action (“Go to this…” “Come over to…”) • Comparative language (better, best, etc.) • Quantitative language (most, largest, complete) • Qualitative language (great, excellent, awesome) Underwriting Sample: Support for this program is provided by the Wausau Area Hmong Mutual Association, offering educational services to Southeast Asian families in the Wausau area. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm at 1109 6th Street in Wausau, phone number (715) 842-8390. Live streaming: http://www.wnrblp.org Other Underwriting Information: Underwriting Announcements are 20 seconds or less, and we will work directly with you to compose the message that listeners will hear. Underwriting contracts with WNRB-LP are 4, 8, or 12 months long. You may have up to 6 mentions per day. In addition, If you choose to underwrite for either 8 or 12 months, WNRB-LP will announce your underwriting support an additional four times from 12am-7am (the over night) without adding to your rate(s). There is a pre-pay 5% discount, otherwise, you can pay on a monthly basis.
